Moving to a major label and picking up a new member (Greg McNeily on bass and harmonica), Suncast followed up their debut with the clearly superior In Touch Again. Here the acoustic instruments and relaxed harmonies take prominence, allowing Suncast to ultimately succeed in the “warm sounds” department, especially when they toss in autoharp, mandolin, banjo, fiddles and harmonica. Strings are used more sparingly than on Let It Shine, joining woodwinds on ‘September’ and the short instrumental ‘Evening Song’. Includes a cover of Loggins & Messina’s ‘Watchin’ The River Run’. The spirited electric folkrock groove of ‘Love In My Heart’ is balanced against delicate ballads like ‘Lift Me Up’, ‘All That I Have’, ‘Driftin’ and the title track, the latter a beautiful moody acoustic piece that closes the album.
